My research interests focus on providing practical solutions and tools for regional, watershed-scale water balance modelling in northern Canada. I use stable water isotopes as watershed-scale tracers of the hydrological cycle, providing a means to verify hydrological models. Applications of this research include water balance studies in complex and remote environments, long-term water resource studies that quantify runoff production and assess hydrological variability, water supply under climate change studies, and improved water balance prediction using water isotope modelling.  My research also extends to applications of water quality modeling and transport phenomenon in surface and subsurface pathways.
